Tree to Tree Adventures Course Guide (Part-time)

The position provides supervision, guidance, assistance, and exceptional educational and recreational experiences to individuals and groups of people as they participate on the Tree to Tree Adventures course.  Skills in climbing, belaying, working with ropes, and weather observation preferred.  Must be comfortable, able, and/or willing to operate at heights and perform rescues and assist functions associated with the course. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to speak effectively to different ages and in front of small to large groups and able to assess and diffuse difficult situations. Must be able to work and communicate effectively as a team member.  Possess the ability to work long hours and irregular shifts outdoors, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed and scheduled.  Contributes to an environment where customer service is a high priority.

Birthday Party Programmer (Part-time; as needed)

Seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic team player responsible for implementing birthday party programs that incorporate the mission and philosophy of the Museum. Primary responsibilities include: setting up and implementing activities for birthday parties, greeting party participants, and assisting them to the party site, facilitating fun and memorable experiences for guests.  Requires a pleasant disposition, ability to work independently, excellent communication, and customer service skills. May also be working hands-on with the Museum’s teaching collection of animals. Hours vary based on scheduled parties. Summer Camp Teachers (Part-time/ seasonal 6/14-8/11)

Seeking enthusiastic summer camp teachers for Tallahassee Museum summer camps! Teachers must enjoy the outdoors, science, the arts, and working to inspire and educate tomorrow’s leaders. We offer a healthy balance of indoor and outdoor activities in a 52 acre classroom of wild habitats, historic buildings, exhibit space, nature trails, lakes, and shared forestry land. Café Assistant (Part-time)

We are looking for an energetic person who is excited about food service to join our Trail Break Café staff! Primary responsibilities include food production, maintaining impeccable food handling quality, preparing for catered events, working catering events as needed, and operating a point of sales system. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Estimated hours are up to 29 hours per week, MUST be available during the week, weekends and some evenings may be required as well. Visitor Services Retail Team Member (Part-time, up to 24 hours per week)

We are looking for outgoing energetic people who are excited about enhancing our visitors’ experience through the sale of tickets and merchandise on our Visitor Services Retail Team. Primary responsibilities include direct interaction with our visitors and museum staff both in person and on the phone, maintaining impeccable customer service quality while selling tickets and merchandise using a point of sale system, as well as providing information about the museum and upcoming events utilizing the museum’s website and scheduling software and maintaining the visually appealing and inviting appearance of the Museum Store. Candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, retail experience, the ability to multitask, excellent communication, strong computer skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment as a part of a team. Estimated hours are up to but no more than 24 hours per week, must be available on weekends, and some evenings may be required as well.
