The following senior programs encourage memory exercises among individuals. Some programs inspire nostalgia through hands on activities with items of the past. Each program is 45-60 minutes in length.
All program fees are for groups of 25 individuals, with up to 10 additional individuals at $5 per person. Group numbers must not exceed 35 total individuals.

Available Programs
Artifacts Program: An educator will bring out an array of items from our Museum Education collection. Participants are encouraged to ponder what these items would have been used for. The educator will share stories of these items, and encourage participants to share stories they may have about similar artifacts of the past. This program encourages the exchange of stories.
Butter-making Program: This program focuses on the history of butter making, as well as provides a hands-on experience for participants. In the end, participants will take a bit of butter for themselves.
Quilt Making: In this program participants gather together to exchange quilt making knowledge, while crafting a piece to keep. One of the museum’s resident folk artists will come with patterns and a little history of quilts for participants to explore.
Reptiles Program: The Educator will go over the ins and outs of reptiles, presenting at least two to the group. Reptiles available are: Tortoises, turtles, snakes, and an alligator. Please specify which your group feels comfortable with.
Birds of Prey Program: This program focuses on the unique behaviors and adaptations of Florida’s birds of prey. The Educator will bring out at least one bird of prey for the participants to observe.
Mammals: This program brings at least one of the mammals from our Education collection, as well as many other items relating to these critters to your location. Participants will be able to identify the differences in omnivore, herbivore and carnivore, and understand that mammal habitats vary.

Price Information
Programs are $60 per program at the Museum/ $85 at your site, unless otherwise noted.
We understand that changes arise in scheduling and therefore allow for one change in date and time no less than 2 weeks prior to a reservation. A $25 administrative fee for program date/time change is applied to any change made in addition to the allowed change, or one that is less than 2 weeks prior.
