Tallahassee Museum Announces Partnership with Taylor County Schools

Thanks to the generous support of Georgia Pacific and the Foley Cellulose Plant in Taylor County, the Tallahassee Museum launched a series of environmental education programs with Taylor County schools. The program kicked off through a series of workshops with Taylor County High School students. On January 10, 2018 the Museum hosted students from the high school Agriculture program, which offered a glimpse into the highlights of a long leaf pine ecosystem. Lead by former President/CEO of Tall Timbers, Lane Green, the students learned the importance of fire, went on a plant ID walk, and got hands-on with some of the threatened species within a long leaf forest.
